For months and months, our friend Carol and Nick have been talking about her hosting a Poker night at her place. This was even before the wedding. Finally, after Carol’s trip to Thailand, the holidays and all the rest were over, the night was planned.

Then we found out about Nick’s medical issue and the idea of sitting still for extended periods of time seemed like the worse idea. But people were invited, appetizers planned, the party was on. And it was good distraction anyway.
